I’m returning these boots because the zipper doesn’t glide easily and I think even if I oiled them they’d break. They are gorgeous boots in a soft, pebbled leather and they fit my 17.5 inch calves and longer legs (I’m 5’8″) without drooping in the ankle or gaping at the calves like wide calf boots often do. I ordered a half size larger than I normally would, but would go up a full size if you decide to try them and don’t mind babying the zipper.

This is a nice looking boot! Unfortunately, I returned. Boot was extremely large (wide) in calf for me. If you are looking for a riding boot, with “classy” look and wide calf, this is the boot for you.

I have 16 inch calves that are apparently too big for regular calf boots and too small for wide calf boots. These gaped at least an inch at the top and were not flattering. I considered taking them to a cobbler to have them altered, as another reviewer did, but I was already stretching my budget. Also, the foot runs small and I would not be able to wear thick winter socks with these.
The leather and color are both gorgeous, but unfortunately these boots are not for me.

I got a wide calf and it was huge. It looked as though I was standing in buckets. The regular is an inch too small for my calf (14 3/4) and these are an inch too large (16 3/4). 15 3/4 would have been perfect.
Otherwise, the foot size was perfect.

I love these boots. Great quality and they are a true tall wide cafe boot! The issue is the zipper. It’s so difficult to zip up or down regardless if the boot is my foot or off. The mechanics of the zipper needs some adjustments.

loved the leather and color. i didn’t like how tall/flared they were. a little too tall and a little too flared for me and my 5’4″ frame. i see what people are saying about the zipper… but I would have lived with it if the fit had been better.

These boots took a bit to break in around the toe box and my arch, but they fit my slightly wide calves, look very sleek, and also are now very comfy to wear.

I originally ordered a size 7, my regular size, and had to send it back for an exchange because it was too small. The size 7.5 fit better. The zippers, though, are a cause for concern and should be oiled before using to prevent breakage.

Unfortunately the books were too tall and too wide at the top for me. Beautiful design and style but didn’t fit for my 5’3″ frame.

Great expectation absolutely was met. Leather amazingly soft the inner lining smooth and footbed is comfortable no break in needed . I didn’t have issue with zipper. Good deal with Zappos other site still price it as manufacturing price 200+… overall Satisfied with my purchase and I love the boots . Im planning to buy this in black if they have my size.

Foot and widest part of calf were true to size for me but then the boot gets wider as it goes up your leg. It’s a bad look to have 2 extra inches of opening around the knee. The boots themselves are very nice and I considered taking them to a shoe repair shop to see if they could take them in at the top but the zipper is so hard to operate that I returned them. Two strikes against them! Star ratings lower than they would be because of the big top of boot.

The boots were old, used, dirty, with worn soles – box was in terrible condition so I should have guessed something was up – I promptly returned. I think I would have like them had they not been worn out!

I have oddly giant cankles and calves and have to wear wide shaft boots. Despite my giant lower leg situation, the shape and fit of these boots is super weird and looks bizarre. The actual shoe/foot area runs slightly small (I am a true 8.5 but ordered a 9 because of reviews, and it fit, but was tight). Lower shaft by my ankle and lower calf was fine. But higher calf/under the knee was HUGE. Like I could fit a fist between my leg and the boot. Such a bummer because they’re beautiful and look well made and expensive. Returning.

The leather in the boots was so pretty and I loved the style. However, they are entirely tooo tall! I have been wearing Franco Sarto boots for years and like the way they fit, their durability and good looks. I was really looking forward to having a black pair, but sadly I had to return them.

Zipper is horrible it wont zip when you put your foot in. Would need to go up a size for the zipper to be able to zip but then the shoe would be big.

Boots felt really nice and well made. They are not wide calf though. Could not get the zipper up. zipper should be on the side of the boot, not the back

I ordered at least a full size bigger and my foot fit just fine. They were however impossible to zip (the zipper is in the back). I could not get the zipper to go up even the first two inches, and believe me I tried because they are beautiful boots.
